Clustering
A basic requirement for critical business applications is that they are always available for use. Clustering assures that in spite of failure or required maintenance, the applications you need to run your business, are always on.
Clustering lets you connect servers together so one can take over for the other in the event of a hardware or software failure. Clustered configurations can also be used for Network Load Balancing, a technology that balances the strain on servers when dealing with incoming user requests.

The newly available Windows Server 2003 provides integrated clustering services and technologies to deliver higher levels of service and availability. The Windows Server 2003 family provides two types of clustering services: Cluster service and Network Load Balancing.
